As the sun slowly rises in LAAX, it's not long until the perfect skiing or snowboarding day begins. After a short trip by cable car, you can hit the wide, blue, red or black slopes, or go to the snow park. We have 224 kilometres of slopes, 4 snow parks and 28 ski lifts, 70% of which are situated at an altitude of between 2,000 and 3,000 metres, which makes LAAX one of the most reliable winter sports regions in the world to find snow. So once your alarm clock rings in LAAX, you'll be dying to hit the slopes. Have a look at the slope map as a PDF here.

There are several ways to calculate the length of slopes. The most inaccurate is the "horizontal" (see graph c), where the length of the slope is measured from the start point to the end point. Another possibility is the "transverse" variant (see graphic b). Here bumps and ground waves are taken into the measurement as well. The model which we have chosen is the "sporty" one (see graphic a). It is calculated the way a person really uses the slope. Therefore the curves are also included in this model. This results in our number of 224 kilometers of slopes.
In the certification of the ski resort you can find all the information about the slope length, calculated in all three variants, and some other interesting information about the lifts in LAAX.
