Jan Scherrer in the halfpipe

Jan Scherrer

The Toggenburger Jan Scherrer has been competing in the World Cup since 2009. The Swiss snowboarder is among the absolute world elite in the halfpipe discipline and spends a lot of time training in LAAX. He has already participated in three Olympic Winter Games. In Beijing, he placed third and won the bronze medal. In 2022, he reached third place at the LAAX OPEN. With his self-invented trick, the 'Jan Tonic', Scherrer won bronze at the 2023 Snowboard World Championships in Bakuriani.

Andri on the Proline

Andri Ragettli

In the freeski scene, Flims' Andri Ragettli has long been a superstar. He first stood on skis in Flims Laax at the age of two. At 17, he was already close to the X-Games podium in slopestyle. Here, the freeski sensation showed something in the finals with back-to-back triples that had never been seen before. And even though Andri now rocks the international freeski elite, he still loves coming to the Snowpark LAAX the most.

Celia in the quarterpipe

Celia Petrig

Celia Petrig is a talented Swiss snowboarder who lives out her passion for the sport in LAAX. In January 2019, Celia achieved second place at the home World Cup, the LAAX OPEN in Slopestyle. Her connection to LAAX goes beyond snowboarding; here she combines her love for the sport with her artistic flair, embodying the unique lifestyle of the region.

David in the Superpipe

David Hablützel

That David Hablützel is among the most promising young snowboarders in the world is undisputed. Podium finishes at the Burton US and the then European Open, a fifth place at the Olympic Games in Sochi, and a third place at his home event, the LAAX OPEN. Dave knows the Laax Superpipe as well as hardly anyone else. Because Laax has been his second home for years, and he is also known in the Freestyle Academy: He already won the Mini Shred Contest here in 2009.

Lucas in the halfpipe

Lucas Baume

Growing up in a small village in the Vallée de Joux in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, Lucas a.k.a. Yung Doli secured a spot at the Davos Snowboard School at the age of 15. The chances were good to be accepted into the Swiss Snowboard national team. Because competitions are about being better than your friends, he stopped participating after more than ten years. Today, he lives in Laax during the winter and has moved on from the national team. His plans for the future? To make snowboarding the fun sport it once was.

Mia on the Proline

Mia Brookes

Mia Brookes stood on a snowboard for the first time at 18 months old. In 2022, she participated in a FIS Big Air Snowboard and Freeski World Cup in Chur for the first time, finishing in ninth place. Later in the same season, the young Brit secured second place at the FIS Snowboard & Freeski World Cup LAAX OPEN. In 2023, she became the world champion in the Slopestyle discipline in Bakuriani, Georgia, at just 16 years old. As a child, she and her family spent several seasons living in a motorhome at Camping Flims so she could train in LAAX.

Jonas in the superpipe

Jonas Hasler

The native Thurgauer Jonas Hasler is a true all-rounder and competes in the disciplines of Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Big Air. This is not by chance, as his parents were already professional snowboarders, so the talent was laid out for him. He has won countless podium places and medals at Junior World Championships and European Cups. Now his biggest goal is to participate in the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2026. Meanwhile, the young talent lives in the freestyle hotspot LAAX, which gives him access to first-class training facilities.

Daniel in the snow park

Daniel Loosli

Daniel Loosli is a freeskier and photographer from Zurich, whose style stands out for its versatility and a keen sense of aesthetics - both on skis and behind the lens. For over 15 years, he is mostly found in LAAX during winter, and his unique skiing style is unmistakable. Although he is on skis, he is inspired by various elements of snowboarding. Daniel is actively involved in the further development of the freeski scene and sets new standards by combining flowing movements with precise technique. LAAX is a place for him where he can live out his passion and set new impulses.
